About NUKA
Nuka Project is a program that addresses the critical need for innovative, inclusive learning opportunities for English as a Second Language Learners (ESOLs). Many ESOL students bring rich cultural and linguistic assets to the classroom; however, traditional instructional approaches do not always provide accessible pathways for self-expression or academic language development. By integrating visual art with literacy instruction, this project offers an engaging, multimodal approach that bridges language acquisition and creative expression while affirming students’ identities.
