Multilingual Education

Multilingual learners (MLs) are one of the fastest-growing populations in U.S. K–12 schools, yet there is a critical shortage of ESL-trained educators. As a result, many MLs are placed in classrooms that do not fully meet their academic and linguistic needs. They also often lack opportunities for cultural expression, contributing to school-related stress. My research focuses on improving educational practices that support both their learning and cultural identity.
